Confirmation Topic 2 The Lord’s Prayer Introduction

Hi everyone

Welcome to our second topic of year 1!

What a wonderful time this is for us all. Learning about the Lord’s Prayer and what Jesus gave us as a gift by teaching us this way of praying.

Lets make sure we all know the Lord’s Prayer so that we can pray it together and on our own.

Our Father in Heaven

Hallowed be Your Name

Your Kingdom Come

Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven

Give us this day our daily bread

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors,

And do not bring us to the time of trial

But rescue us from the evil one.

For the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory are yours,

Now and forever.

For the next weeks, before your start the new chapter and if you want to, every day, pray this prayer together. It is a beautiful way of making it part of your life.
Get ready for weekly updates to remind you that the next chapter is ready for you.

Until then, have a go at learning the Lord’s Prayer off by heart.

Please let us know if you want to be a part of the service on Sundays.

Here are a few opportunities where you can easily serve the Lord:

  • read one of the lessons (there are three of them)
  • lead a part in the general church prayer (and we could have a few topics to pray about)
  • sing with the music group in church
  • share your musical talents if you can play an instrument
  • you could welcome people as they come in & be an acolyte (carrying the cross and the Bible for the procession, as well as lighting the altar candles)

If you are too far from the Gold Coast to join us on a Sunday, then ask your local Pastor if there is something you can do to serve.

Pastors love it when young people jump in with energy.

Have a great week and let me know what happens on your end of the world.

Then bring it home every night of the week with this interactive family home journal. Jesus had a lot to say about prayer and He spent a lot of time praying. In fact Jesus refers to prayer 42 times and the Gospels record Him personally praying 28 times. These ten engaging themes give young people Jesus’ blueprint for a life of prayer.
